A time of shiftings and pause; rememberings and re-imaginings (new Moon + Sun new in Cancer + Solstice & eclipse). Sensitivity, empathy and creativity are heightened. As the new Moon and Sun cycles begin, we are called to attend to what is close to home in physical space and within. Time to feel into Cancer’s oasis of warmth, comfort, compassion, and nourishing self care. Time to flow with what is and what comes (5 planets in Water signs), and to deepen connections to heart wisdom and the divine feminine (8/11 planets in fem signs).

The new Moon plus Sun new in Cancer, as well as an eclipse and Solstice too, makes this is a rare and potent time. It’s a turning point, a seed moment with lots of evolutionary themes. There’s a lot of power and energy, amplified and intensified by the very confluence of events. We are invited to tune to the force of creation; the origin or origins (Cancer: Great Mother archetype); and to Spirit’s longings (Solstice & eclipse). It’s a time to revisit, review, and reflect (5 planets retrograde); a time to unify heart and mind; and to harmonise dualities. Responsibility and freedom are key themes (Saturn effect) and we are asked to set clear boundaries; and to devise creative solutions to issues we are seeing rise.

This is a time that heralds change, new pattern-setting, and new beginnings. It is a time of transformation and rebirth (Eclipse & Solstice). Now is the time to release all that compromises ease and peace. Time to connect with source and flow into grace-filled space. Time to deeply feel and flow into the completeness of home within. Waning Moon Half-lit in Pisces

Welcome Waning Moon Half-lit (exact @ 2324 PDT) in Pisces

… release, relax, dream, rejuvenate … 

At waning Moon it’s time to review learnings, integrate and realign. She invites us to release (addnl emphasis from Sun/Mars-Neptune), empty ourselves of all that no longer serves, and move inward. In Pisces she heightens emotional sensitivity; helps us create flow; and allows imagination and intuition to reign. Pisces Moon brings gentle, soothing, healing energy; takes us to the origins of spiritual insight; and holds safe space to commune within. Time to shift, reorient, and move into the dreaming time.

This Moon time expresses the energy of contrasts and the forces of dual energies is quite pronounced (moon half-lit + 3 planets in Gem). Together, Sun and hold the masculine (Sun & Gemini Air) and the feminine (Moon & Pisces Water); and thought/left brain (Gemini) and feeling/right brain (Pisces). We are called to align and integrate mental activity (Gemini) with our spiritual beliefs (Pisces); to create harmony and unity through our sense of wholeness and oneness.

Various influences encourage us to move slow (4 planets RX + Merc on Jn17 and Nep preparing for Jn22), meander and move into flow (4 planets in Water signs; 6 planets in mutable signs). Elemental energy now and over the next week helps us to maintain relative balance. Moon Full in Sagittarius

Greeting Moon Full (exact @ 1212 PDT) in Sagittarius + p.Lunar Eclipse (@ 1225 PDT)

… illumination, revelation, realization, transformation …

The Moon is full, we have a partial eclipse (1st of 3), and we’re about halfway through Gemini season. Under Moon-full we are called to widen our vision, dissolve any sense of separation, and feel in to a fullness of Being. The eclipse brings what’s hidden to the surface and precipitates shift and change; emotions and influences are amplified and intensified. Half-way through Gemini season, a range of different beliefs and perspectives are being illuminated. Much is being revealed and with Moon in Sag the revelations concern what we believe. It’s time for open-mindedness, expanded awareness, vision and inspiration. A time to uplift, revitalize and expand.

Sagittarius Moon (& eclipse) brings courage to overcome challenges and asks us to remember the power of illumination and truth. She provides new insights and the opportunity to imagine and create new realities (esp w/ Mars-Nep influence). It is a time to examine assumptions, beliefs, attitudes and ways of seeing. Together with Gemini Sun we are called to expand the breadth of our knowledge; explore areas of dissonance; and open to a reality liberated from dogma and old power and control ‘norms.’

Yes these are challenging times that can test our composure and resolve (Mars influence & esp Tsquare – Mars, Sun Moon, Venus, Nep). Yes, we are asked to review, excavate, and examine many elements of the past (4 planets retrograde; 5 w/ Merc Rx upcoming); and to review what causes separation, isolation or injustice (Venus-Rx). And yes (upside), this is an opportunity for new perspectives to positively inform healing and transformation. Supportive energy is provided for big picture risk-taking and courageous action (Mars in Pisces); we have aid in maintaining clarity and compassion (Merc now in Cancer); and the way is cleared for new perspectives and discoveries as we honour and reclaim our own knowing (Merc-Chiron-Uranus).

It’s time to release the past and be present in this moment. Time to deepen trust in Spirit. Time to anchor love and compassion. Time to create space for nurturing ourselves and our new visions. Time to watch clouds, listen to birds, breathe Earth, and lean in to connection. Time to listen deeply, expand our hearts, and honour the wonder that we Be.

Waxing Moon Half-lit in Virgo

Greeting Waxing Moon Half-lit (exact @ 2030 PDT) in Virgo

… presence, discernment, connection … 

Things are moving forward under the waxing Moon. Curiosity is peeked and both cerebral and creative energy flow quickly (4 planets in Gemini). In Virgo we become more discriminating, more sensitized to beauty, harmony and balance; and more drawn to practical action. At Moon half-lit, it’s time to pause, review and revise plans; and realign. Time to bring Spirit into form.

The energy of duality is heightened (half-lit Moon, Gemini, & Gem-Virgo together) and we are asked to look at opposing forces yet again. Of particular note, Virgo Moon craves responsibility and wants to develop detailed plans; Gemini Sun craves freedom and wants to change anything in the moment. Both seek to improve ‘results.’ Together they call us to nourish both their wants and move thought to action; bring Spirit into form; and improve health and well-being for ourselves and All.

Things may get a bit ‘heady’ in the process (both Virgo & Gem have active minds) and we could find ourselves flying off on flights of fancy (Gemini). Fortunately we are graced with strong Earth energy to keep us grounded (4 planets in Earth signs) and focussed. To further keep us grounded, we’ll continue to find ourselves drawn to home and family; to more refined information; and to nurturing and caring (Merc now in Cancer). There are opportunities for strongly connecting to our Spirit/soul-centered values (Venus-Rx); and for healing, increased self-acceptance, and creating/embracing liberation in new ways (Sun-Chiron). Acceptance, rationality and thoughtfulness (Merc-NN) will be key themes as we continue our ongoing balancing act as much is dismantled and restructured in these challenging times (Jup-Sat-Pluto).

This is a time for balance and discernment. A time to harness our focus. A time to initiate practical action. Time to breathe deep and be filled with peace and Love and harmony. Time to move our wishes, dreams and visions into form.

Moon Dark-New in Gemini

Welcome Moon Dark-New (exact @ 1039 PDT) in Gemini

… knowledge, connection, expression …

Moon dark-new opens a new cycle of possibilities. In Gemini we are eager for lots of everything. She activates desires for logic, reason, knowledge, and interaction; and she inspires new plans. We are called into our most flexible, adaptable, stimulating and playful selves. Gemini is of the mind, gifted with language, heightened awareness, and sharp perception; and the ability to entertain a multitude of diverse ideas. It is time to expand our vision, integrate polar opposites, and find the unity underlying duality. Time to follow beauty and truth; and wonder into connections and possibilities of all kinds.

Air energy is blowing strong helping us be flexible, adaptable and ready for movement. Some of the energies that are about may pull us in different directions (eg Merc/Venus-Nep and Sun/Moon-Sat) but we’ve lots of stations that are ‘expert’ at embracing and negotiating those pulls (7 planets in mutable signs; 5 of these in Gemini). It’s true that conflicting needs may be demanding attention and cause some irritation or impatience (Sun/Moon sq Mars) but we have strong harmonizing, supportive influences as well.

We will likely feel more grounded and stable, and find it easier to focus and maintain practical discipline (Sun/Moon-Sat trine). Our understanding and compassion is increasing, and energy is ripe for creative works and for exploring new interests (Sun/Moon trine Jup).
