Welcome Equinox and Aries Sun. Equinox reminds us of the need to find balance and harmony – between rest and activity, receiving and giving, feminine and masculine, and dark and Light. Today the deep dreaming of Pisces Sun gives way to Aries. In a few hours Pisces Moon gives way to Moon dark-new in Aries too. Endings and beginnings. Dreaming into action.

 

The shift in season and the rise of Firey Aries energy re-ignites the Fire within (4 & soon 5 planets in Aries). Expect renewed passion, new inspiration, fresh motivation, and an eagerness to get moving. Another significant shift this week focusses on awakening and enacting a new collective consciousness (Pluto in Aqua for 1st time in >200 years). Expect transformation, new ways of Being, and progress on a global scale.

 

The energy of new beginnings is powerful and strongly fuels and supports whatever we may initiate. The momentum builds throughout the season with an additional boost at next new Moon (also in Aries & at ttl solar eclipse). And in midst of all this activity, balance is well-supported (fem/masc relative balance throughout) as is healing, rejuvenation and deep self-care (Mars>Cancer Saturday).

 

It is time to presence Earth, Air, Fire, Water. Root, Breath, flame and Grace. Time to stand in the harmony of feminine and masculine. Time to feel into the stillness point of dark and Light in equal measure. And time to move, ablaze with inner Fire, to express and embody the dreams of Self, Spirit and Soul.

 

Pisces steeped us in watery dreaming
Aries sparks us into awakening

 

Flow with Water, rise with Fire
Activate all that inspires

 

Move sensitively and purposefully
strengthen intention-action unity

Welcome CROSS QUARTER

Welcome the Cross Quarter! (exact Feb3 @1834)

 

amplify, embrace,nourish, re-energize

 

We have recently entered the new lunar year of the Yin Water Rabbit. Water Rabbit brings hope, peace and harmony; and carries the energy of creation, fertility and rebirth. Hir energy is soft and gentle. She encourages us to move from our hearts ; open to flow; and follow our intuition.

 

Like Rabbit, we may have quick bursts of leaping ahead, but the energetics of this year support gentleness and calm. It is a year to move easefully, and to make rest and relaxation a priority.

 

And here we are now at the Cross Quarter, the midpoint between Solstice and Equinox. It is a sacred point in the turning of the wheel.

 

Quarter days mark the change of season. Here in the north it is Imbolc (otherwise celebrated as Candlemas or Brigid’s Day). In the South it is Lugnasadh (Lammas). While these times are now have fixed calendar dates by tradition (Feb 1st/2nd), the actual cross-quarter this year is today (Feb 3 exact @1834 pst).

 

In the North seeds are beginning to stir as days of Light lengthen and the Earth warms. It is a time of renewal. A time to imagine what dreams may be made manifest this year (supported by Saturn now in Pisces).

 

In the South it is the time of first harvest; a time to gather the seeds of first crops; and a time to enjoy the first fruits and grains, and bake fresh bread.  It’s a time to enjoy the warmth and the Light.

 

Seeds are truly central to this time. Seeds that stir now will bring more seeds to fruition; seeds gathered will be planted to stir again. And so the Wheel turns. What seeds will you nourish? What do you wish to bring into the future? A time to ponder.

 

Wherever we are, and whatever our journeys may be, we are called to seek alignment with the natural rhythms of Earth and Cosmos. Time to tune to the Sacred. To Earth, Air, Fire,Water and Spirit; to their practical gifts and their abundant wisdom. To honour all that is offered, and to wonder at All that is hidden and revealed within.

 

May you be warmed by the Sun;

Feel your roots reach deep in Earth;

Be as light as a seed upon the Air; and

Flow with Earth and Cosmos

and all you Be.

Cross Quarter, Full Taurus Moon + Eclipse

Greeting the Cross Quarter, Taurus Moon Full and total Lunar Eclipse

 

remember, release, root, reclaim, transform

 

Cross Quarter days mark the change of a season: for this one, here in the North, the start of winter; in the South, the beginning of Summer. This cross-quarter day marks the point half way between Equinox and Solstice. At this time of year in the North it is Samhain; in the South, Beltane. While these sacred times now have fixed dates by tradition (Oct 31/Nov1/2), the actual cross-quarter this year is November 7 (exact @0236pst).

 

In the North at Samhain it is a time to honour endings; a time of gratitude. The energy calls us to immerse in the deepening dark, and transform what has been into sustenance for the future. In the South at Beltane we draw on this sustenance and the increasing Light to flourish anew. It is a time to choose what we want to amplify and bring into form.

 

Wherever we are, and whatever our journeys may be, we are called to seek alignment with the natural rhythms of Earth and Cosmos. Time to tune to the Sacred. To Earth, Air, Fire,Water and Spirit; to their practical gifts and their abundant wisdom. To honour all that is offered, and to wonder at All that is hidden and revealed within. It is a time to remember and a time to celebrate the fertility of Life and land.

 

The Cross Quarter energy of beginnings/endings, change and shift holds and builds in potency as a full ‘Blood’ Moon and a total lunar eclipse occurs the following day (Nov 8: Moon Full exact @0302pdt; eclipse 0002-0556; max @0259 and the last ttl lunar eclipse until 2025). Moon full is a time of illumination, clarity, culmination, and appreciation. Always a time when emotions and intuition are heightened; more so with Sun in Scorpio and the eclipse (Earth between Moon and Sun). The energy may feel even more intense with other Earth-Sky configurations at this time (eg fixed T-Square, Mars-R in Gem (choices & slow action), Mars-Jup-Nep, Uranus-Moon, etc). Time to both root and flow.

 

Moon in Taurus, anchored in physical/material reality, does bring a stabilizing, calming influence. She calls us to reconnect to our earthy selves; to our relationship to the physical world; and to simple, in-matter pleasures. We are asked to attune to sense-reality, deeply ground, and be wholly here, fully in-body.

 

On the other hand, Sun in Scorpio (Mercury & Venus too) flows in the mystical realms and wants to delve into the mystery; to explore and fully embrace the cycle of life, death and rebirth. Scorpio calls us to find what is buried; clear, cleanse, shed or transform what no longer serves; and to be reborn fully empowered to be all we can Be.

 

When Taurus and Scorpio meet, there is a stirring of the simple and the complex; the basic and the exotic; the tangible and the intangible. Their wisdoms are complementary. Both seek to create a nurturing, empowered quality of life. Together they evoke a kind of creation magick, walking with sure feet (Taurus) into new ways of Being (Scorpio) with comfort, beauty and a deep sense of self-worth and self-love. It’s time to weave together the wisdom of both. Time to bridge the physical and the spiritual; the seen and the unseen. And time to savour each moment.

 

The Blood Moon Eclipse (Nov8 0002-0556 pst) brings transformative energy that can shift us to higher states of consciousness. Blood Moon eclipses also tend to bring to the surface whatever may need to be cleared. Like Scorpio, they call us to cleanse, shed or otherwise do away with all that no longer serves. It is a time to transform and create more space for what we truly value. Ultimately, the Blood Moon Eclipse in Taurus is about reclaiming our power, personally, and in the world.

 

Time to release, release, release whatever disempowers. Time to realign and connect deeply with sacred source. Time to tune to the ancient wisdom within us and Earth. Time to ground deeply and embody a sensual sense of the fullness of the moment. Time to come home to ourselves; and to see in new Light all that we are meant to Be. And time always to

Equinox & Libra Season begins

Welcome Equinox & Libra Season (exact at 1804 pdt)

 

… reap & sow
… balance, harmony, peace … 

 

It is Equinox, a time when the length of day and night is ~equal. It is also the beginning of Libra season.

 

There’s a strong call to pause, reflect, recharge and reconsider the ways we spend our energy (waning Moon + 7 planets retrograde); and to find the balance and flow of giving and receiving, contracting and expanding (Eqnx +Libra season).

 

It’s a time to come into stillness. A time to ground all that nourishes balance; and release to the winds all that interferes with the same.

 

In the North it’s time when Nature is beginning to shed, release, and let go; a time to gather the harvest and to set the lands for rest.

 

In the South it’s time to nourish the soils and plant new seeds; a time when Nature begins to re-emerge and bloom.

 

North or South, Earth calls us to connect with hir natural rhythms, hir heart, and hir art in everything.

 

It’s a time for sacred honouring,

 

And, always, it is a time to…
